Textural Hillside

We had a blast updating this entire property with new plantings throughout. The steeply sloped site had drainage problems, and a stark mix of full sun and full shade made it difficult to choose and grow plants. Access was limited through the front yard, making it harder for guests to access the back yard for gatherings.

We added a new lueder limestone front pathway from the entry to the side gate, which also helps to direct and control water flow from the street to the house. Masses of new plantings that provide a mixture of color and texture, flowers and evergreens, offer structure and color throughout the year, as well as a cohesive look whether in sun or shade. Privacy plantings make the property feel like a secluded getaway without blocking the downtown views.
